Michael Schmidt, born 1969 has a working experience in handling projects, guarding budget, timing and quality – and yet providing the creatives with a maximum area of possibilities to be creative, dating back to 1991. At Melville, Michael is responsible for business acquistions, concepts and customer support. Michael was trained for the job as "account guy" in advertising agencies like DDB, Bates, Saatchi & Saatchi, Fortune Promoseven (Bahrain) and Wieden & Kennedy (Amsterdam). From 1998 till 2000 he worked as European Advertising Manager at Nintendo of Europe (in this phase he was also a part of a smaller team launching Pokémon in Europe).
Previous to MELVILLE, he worked at Munich´s design agency Starshot for four years. He worked with Lars Harmsen on various issues of USELESS, their last project being the book "Wii love arts" for Nintendo (www.wiilovearts.com). Michael lives in Munich with his wife and his old VW Camper (not "in"). Whenever there is time, he can be found in the mountains (hiking, boarding, biking, cross country skiing) or planning yet another trip to India.

Bei Melville ist Schmidt verantwortlich für die Neugeschäftsakquise, Konzepte und die Kundenbetreuung. Er lernte den Job als Kontakter von der Pike auf in Agenturen wie DDB, Bates, Saatchi & Saatchi, Fortune Promoseven (Bahrain) und Wieden & Kennedy (Amsterdam). Von 1998 bis 2000 war er Werbeleiter Europa bei Nintendo (in dieser Phase war er Teil eines kleinen Teams, das die Marke Pokémon in Europa eingeführt hat).
Vor Melville war er vier Jahre für die Münchner Design Agentur Starshot tätig. Dort arbeitete er mit Lars Harmsen an fünf USELESS Ausgaben, ihr letztes Projekt dort war das Buch „Wii love Arts“ für Nintendo (www.wiilovearts.com). Schmidt wohnt in München mit seiner Frau und dem gemeinsamen 75er-VW Bus. Immer wenn Zeit dazu ist, findet man ihn in den Bergen (bergsteigen, boarden, biken, langlaufen).
